The search for surprising ways to wrap gifts is a passion of mine.
Holiday Wrap
For Christmas 2013, I chose simple craft paper tied with wide burlap bands then made it coastal with an abalone shell, vintage mercury glass ornaments and tons of scrunchy tie dyed rayon ribbon. Odd shaped gifts were bagged in burlap sacks and adorned with vintage brooches and old satin rosettes.
Woven burlap adds an organic texture to lampshade edges and as a border on pillows. It’s easy to create ruffles by pulling a few strings, then stitching on.
