Tessuti Zoo
On a quiet side street in Pacific Grove, a flash of vivid color will stop your car to a screeching halt. It’s Tessuti Zoo.
Once inside, this whimsical shop filled with covered chairs, fantasy dolls and charming clothing, reflects Emily Owens inspiration of color, fabric and design.
Owens, an Art Major and wholesaler to shops, boutiques, museum gift shops, department stores and catalogues, is a 36-year resident of Pacific Grove.

When asked about what inspired her, Owens replies, “my inspiration comes from the colors, fabrics, buttons, and then the designs just follow. It all began from making fun fabric creatures for my own girls and for friends.”
You must visit this shop often, as her theme changes with the season or with a new collection. Each time I visit, this shop is bursting with shoppers and collectors, seeking out Emily’s art, jewelry, dolls and small treasures.
“Tessuti” means fabric in Italian, and “zoo,” because it’s a wild place!
