SAND CITY WEST END CELEBRATION – CITY IN MOTION

AUGUST 23-25

Hidden away on the west end of Sand City, just 15 minutes from Carmel, jazz musicians take the stage amidst great eats and art.

A celebration that hits all the senses, diligent jazz fans, art buffs and all of us who love faire food, find our bodies swaying to the cool jazz vibes of Chris Kane, among many.  Emceed by celebrity Paige Robertson, who brings to the event his rock ‘n roll energy.

The West End Celebration is famous for it’s great ethnic food.  Mouth-watering Asian, German, Korean, Barbecue, Hawaiian  and the best bratwurst dogs ever.  It’s worth the trip just for the grub.

For the beer fans, there’s Post No Bills, a cool bar with bright graphics on the walls, serving 16 drafts and 300 bottled beers.  Only open for 2 ½ years, winner of the 2013 Monterey County award for “best selection of beers.”

Ramon Gutierrez, general manager and buyer, hosts monthly beer events and tap takeovers, serving their “craft” ales which are sustainably brewed focusing on the highest quality ingredients.  Gutierrez especially recommends a once-a-year anniversary ale on draft, Pendragon Strong Ale, which is locally made. PNB doesn’t offer food, but encourages patrons to bring in their own, or have pizzas delivered straight to the bar.

Sand City’s West End Celebration is an event to be hash-tagged for a great mix of cool music, food and art.
