WINDOW CANDY

It was a misty morning here in Carmel-by-the-Sea. I awoke to the sexy sounds of the Ferrari’s deep hum as they raced about the empty streets before the crowds filed in for Concours.

Early mornings in the Village are a perfect time to walk and window browse with Newport, my Jack Russell. He loves that there are no dogs in sight to terrorize, and I am fascinated by the amazing window displays prepared for this once-a-year car event. Gone are the quaint displays which usually appeal to a summer vacation crowd. For this one glittery week in August, they are replaced with lavish displays of Rolex watches, expensive art, men’s colorful riding attire and anything reflecting an automobile flavor. Sharing with you some of Carmel’s fabulous window displays in honor of Concours d’Elegance.
